The Akashi City Museum of Culture, established in October 1991, serves to showcase the city's history and cultural heritage. One of its most notable exhibits is the fossil of the "Akashi-zou" (elephant), discovered in sediment dating back about 2 million years, highlighting Akashi's long-standing suitability for animal life.
