Kobe INK Monogatari Special color City Museum Gray
The Kobe City Museum, located in the historic Kyu-kyoryuchi (former foreign settlement), is a stunning neo-classical building originally constructed in 1935 as the Yokohama Specie Bank Kobe Branch. Recognized as a registered tangible cultural property, it stands as a significant example of early Showa architecture.
The museum boasts a diverse collection, featuring archaeological treasures like the Sakuragaoka Dotaku, alongside art pieces such as Nanban Koge and various glass crafts, as well as historical maps.
"City Museum Gray" was created to reflect the essence of cultural exchange both domestically and internationally. This calming warm gray, visible on the building's exterior, beautifully complements the museum’s role in preserving and showcasing cultural heritage.
