Kyoto Inks is a Japan based ink company made fountain pen inks from traditional dye techniques and the color was mainly use for the Kimono industry. Now these traditional colors are available for fountain pens. These colors are the aspirations of traditional Japanese colors and also name after unique places in Old Japan.
In some of those famous Japanese novels, such as The Tale of Genji (Genji Monogatari) or The Tale of the Hollow Tree (Utsubo Monogatari) there is a mysterious sounding word, Hisoku, which means “the secret color!” Hisoku is a pale green color like the color of a celadon, and this color name is attached because the blue green color with a gray unique ash is a mysterious beauty.
